The Briarcliff Manor School District has been recognized as a statewide leader in student achievement, earning top rankings on the most recent New York State assessments. These results reflect the District’s investment in high-quality instruction, professional development aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards, and a continued focus on educating the whole child.
In December, the New York State Education Department released math and English Language Arts (ELA) assessment results for students in grades three through eight from the 2024–2025 school year. Briarcliff ranked #1 in New York State in math proficiency, with 94% of students meeting or exceeding standards, and #3 in ELA, with 89% proficiency. Students are considered proficient when they score at Level 3 or higher, indicating readiness for continued academic success.

These results represent significant growth from the previous year and underscore the impact of the District’s ongoing work to strengthen teaching and learning. Through targeted professional development, curriculum refinement, and a focus on classroom practice, Briarcliff continues to prepare students with the skills, knowledge, and dispositions needed for success in high school and beyond.

“In my view, the purpose of state assessments is to help school districts evaluate how effectively their staff and programs are implementing the new, more rigorous academic standards," he said. "Given our continued commitment to educating the whole child, and having witnessed the dedication and effort of our faculty and staff in recent years, the results are not surprising. I am incredibly proud of our collective effort here in Briarcliff among students, staff, and families.”
