Heller's Pleasantville Won't Close...Yet

The store's management previously planned to consolidate with its Mount Kisco location.

Despite previous efforts to close its Pleasantville location, Heller's Shoes will stay open—if just for a little while longer.

The decision, said General Manger Bob Walsh, who is based out of the store's second Mount Kisco location, isn't necessarily a permanent one.

Walsh noted that after the store introduced major markdowns on its products leading up to an anticipated closure in Pleasantville, "It started to pick up."

The store's ownership then decided to keep the Pleasantville Road shop for another season.

Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce President Bill Flooks shared the news at the organization's monthly meeting on Wednesday.

"I think a lot of people in Pleasantville wrote letters on behalf of the store," said Flooks, adding, "They are going to be bringing in pocketbooks, belts and scarves and things so they have a little bit more retail stuff there."

Said Walsh, "For the time being, we will see how it goes."
