Lead Sponsor Northwell Health Tip:

"Arugula is a leafy green containing nutrients such as beta-carotene and vitamin C. Arugula is also a good source for calcium. When making salads at home, consider choosing a variety of leafy greens. Using these greens in salads and on sandwiches creates a more nutritious meal." Brought to you by Northern Westchester and Phelps, your local Northwell hospitals.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS

Mr. Trotta always brings his best efforts to our St. Patrick's Day market, and this year is no exception. Using fresh spinach to achieve a beautiful green pasta, he didn't rest (he never rests) until he created a full menu of hand-rolled spinach Busiate, Pappardelle, Ravioli (multiple sizes), and Mafaldine. Expect us to explain the details of each here? Nah! Stop by the Trotta Foods booth to view each and receive best advice on use there. Suffice to say, the right pasta is ready for your menu.

Spice Revolution is featuring their Oatmeal Pie bars made with local maple, cinnamon, brown sugar and River Valley Community Grains' Organic rolled oats. And get them talking about their favorite spring spices: fennel seeds, rosé sea salt, and fenugreek powder.

Need oatmeal for your own recipes? River Valley Community Grains is in with their full line of grains produced with regenerative agricultural practices on Saturday.

Edgwick Farm milks 56 goats every day, twice a day, in order to bring fresh milk, yogurt, and cheese to market. If you have not tried fresh goats milk before, step up and try a taste Saturday. Mead Orchard's apples roll out of their controlled atmosphere storage in phases during the winter -- crisp for a few weeks until that "apple cohort" softens, at which time they are perfect for baking, sauces, and (in purchases) continued support of keeping regional orchards strong as they invest in spring. If not enough apples in that "cohort" are bought they become the best, freshest cider you've ever tasted. To each apple (phase) a purpose... Stop by Mead's tent to see what apples they have ready for you, and also shop from their line of ciders, sparkling cider, jarred sauces, apple cider vinegar, and honey.

Kriemhild Dairy Farms will be at the Market Saturday with their full line of Organic Grass Fed Meadow Butter as well as Creamline milk, creme fraiche, churn buttermilk with cultures, and of course their delicious churn buttermilk with chocolate.

Cooper's Daughter Spirits will be in and they are highlighting their Thai Basil Liqueur -- distilled from New York apples and infused with locally grown, organic Thai Basil from Whistle Down Farms. Add a splash to gin, vodka, bourbon, or tequila cocktails.

Hilly Acres Farm will be at the Market with a large assortment of pork, beef, chicken, and fresh brown eggs. They've several delicious pork roasts, fresh or smoked boneless hams, and shoulder roasts. And in the beef they're highlighting top round, bottom round, rump roast, chuck roast, tri-tip roasts, sirloin tip roasts, and eye round roasts. Not seeking to roast? They have many options for early season grilling!

Maple View Farm has lots of Certified Organic spinach, radishes, bunched mustards, parsley, bok choy, little gem lettuce heads and more. To use their preorder system (open Tuesday, 7pm thru Thursday, 7pm) click https://www.mapleviewfarmny.com/shop.

Tivoli Mushrooms carries an excellent variety of fresh mushrooms at all price levels, but they also offer their Go Mushrooms line of medicinal tinctures, scientifically extracted from six different mushroom types.

Whitecliff Vineyards will bring a great new spring wine, its 2022 Riesling. This off-dry wine, entirely from Hudson Valley-grown grapes, is smooth, aromatic, and a perfect accompaniment to holiday meals.

COMMUNITY SERVICE &

ZERO WASTE!

The composting station at the Farmers Market was started by a Girl Scout for her gold award. It is our community’s job to keep it going when it returns in April. That’s why we are looking for students to volunteer at the composting station. For your help, you will receive community service hours. The composting station is there to decrease the amount of trash produced by the Farmers Market. That includes helping members of the community place their items in the correct bin. To sign up as a volunteer CLICK HERE and add your name to whichever shifts you can volunteer. Then fill out the Market's waiver for volunteers with this LINK. If you have any questions you can contact the Zero Waste Station Coordinator at jadyn@seredin.com. Thank you!
