Indian Point Forum, Town, Village Meetings Coming Up This Week

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — President George Bush said in his inaugural address, "I ask you to be citizens. Citizens, not spectators. Citizens, not subjects. Responsible citizens building communities of service and a nation of character."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week that affect Pleasantville and Briarcliff.

Monday

• Pleasantville Board of Trustees, work session and business meeting. 6 p.m., Village Hall.

Tuesday

• Indian Point Decommissioning forum, 6 p.m. Cortlandt Town Hall. The state Department of Public Service will host a public forum with a panel from the NRC, EPA, and relevant New York agencies. You may register to attend in person or virtually until noon Monday.
• Mount Pleasant Town Board, 7 p.m., Town Hall
• Ossining Town Board, 7:30 p.m., Municipal Building
• Briarcliff Village Board of Trustees, 8 p.m., William J. Vescio Community Center. See agenda here.

Wednesday

• Pleasantville Planning Board, 8 p.m.

Thursday

• Mount Pleasant Zoning board, 7 p.m., Town Hall
