Opening July 30: "Stillwater", "The Green Knight" and "Can You Bring It: Bill T. Jones and D-Man in the Waters."
A dramatic thriller directed by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy (Spotlight) and starring Matt Damon, "Stillwater" follows Bill—an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma—who travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, currently in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit.
An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, "The Green Knight" tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic, emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.
"Can You Bring It: Bill T. Jones and D-Man in the Waters" brings to life the creative process that culminated in choreographer-dancer-director Bill T. Jones’ tour de force ballet D-Man in the Waters, one of the most important works of art to come out of the AIDS crisis.
Opening Aug 6: "Ailey"
Alvin Ailey was a trailblazing pioneer who found salvation through dance. Ailey traces the full contours of the brilliant and enigmatic man whose search for the truth in movement resulted in enduring choreography that centers on the Black American experience with grace, strength, and unparalleled beauty.
Opening Aug. 13: "Respect" and "CODA"
Aretha Franklin (Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson) rises from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to international superstardom in this biopic chronicling the life of the Queen of Soul in "Respect."
As a CODA (child of deaf adults), Ruby (Emilia Jones) is the only hearing person in her family. The 17-year-old spends her time helping her parents and brother run their fishing business, but when she discovers a passion for singing, Ruby must choose between family obligations and her dreams.
