Lane Closures Scheduled for Route 9 Starting Tuesday

The New York State Department of Transportation will be working on Route 9 next week from Tuesday to Friday, between Piping Rock Drive in Ossining and Welcher Avenue in Peekskill.

One lane each on the north and southbound side of Route 9 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the work is taking place.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through work areas and pay particular attention to all traffic control messaging from flaggers, work zone signs and electronic variable message signs. 

State fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone and convictions for two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in driver’s license suspension.
