A multi-family building's $3,000 mailbox unit was tampered with, according to police.

A Pleasantville woman received an unwelcome early wake-up call on Christmas, according to her landlord.

The building's owner, a Valhalla resident, called Pleasantville Police at 11:17 a.m. on December 25 and said one of her tenants had heard the doorbell ringing numerous times between 1 and 1:30 a.m. that morning.

According to the tenant, when she answered the door, she saw the Manville Road building's antique brass mailbox had been damaged.
