Here are some things to keep in mind this week:

1. Adding three new volunteers members to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department—Kevin McNally, Max Kaufman and Michael King Jr.—is among the business on the Board of Trustees' Wednesday agenda. The full agenda can be seen here.

2. Pleasantville Pizza will be closed (beginning Saturday, Aug. 17) for a summer break through Thursday, Aug. 22, reopening Friday. If you're a local business owner who wants to keep the community informed, use Patch's Business Updates Board.

3. Want a head start on SAT preparation? A fall class is being held by the Northern Westchester Chinese School beginning Sept. 21 at Briarcliff High School. Get the details here.

5. Westchester County is warning residents that "bats are making a big August comeback." The Westchester County Department of Health asks residents catch bats in homes for rabies testing. Details are here.
