Current Board President Bill Murray said of the results, "I am happy for the 4,700-plus students in our community. I think it's a strong 'yes.' It shows that the community supports the schools, which support the community."

Despite the fact that she heard from some community members today that they would only support a budget with no tax raise, first-term Trustee-elect Lisa Murray said, "I was very, very excited that the budget passed. I think it was a good...fiscally responsible budget."

As he prepares to continue his tenure, Kress noted "the tax cap and unfunded mandates" will continue to be fiscal challenges for the district.

"I am looking forward to three more years of taking our district from great to greater," he said.
