Ossining Supervisor: 9A, North State Road are Flooded
Supervisor advises staying off the roads.
Town of Ossining Supervisor Catherine Borgia is stressing that all Town of Ossining residents should keep off the roads. She says North State Rd. is flooded, as well as 9A, North State Road and numerous side streets.
Borgia says people should definitely be staying off those roads in particular.
"There are a lot of dangerous areas—a couple power lines down—a couple snapped trees. Mostly it's water right now," said Borgia.
Borgia says that she heard from Westchester County Officials that the wind could increase due to the Hurricane. So far she is not aware of any water rescues that have been performed in the Town of Ossining, however she is aware of numerous areas that are affected by flooding. Some of those areas are being sandbagged to minimize the effects of the floodwaters. "There have been some sewage backups... We have some situations with some of our pump stations. We're trying to keep the operations going," said Borgia.
"Mostly it's a safety issue with people on the roads. People should really be staying off the roads," said Supervisor Borgia. "There are a lot of side streets that are closed...People should definitely be staying off of 9A, 134 and North State Road."
