THORNWOOD, NY — There is about to be another reason for foodies to head to the Hudson Valley, rather than Manhattan, when looking for an exceptional dining experience.

The famed husband-and-wife team of Marc Taxiera and Brianne Meyers-Taxiera, behind the farm-driven Augustine's Salumeria e Pasta Joint in Mamaroneck, announced that they are opening Vida Restaurant later this month, at 14 Marble Ave. in Thornwood.

The new Spanish tapas concept will "offer a highly-anticipated captivating culinary experience that blends the best of Spanish cuisine with global influences."

The tapas menu will include traditional favorites such as papas brava (smashed crispy potato bites) and cheesy croquettes with Serrano ham, along with more complex flavors like the olive-oil-fried duck egg with sea urchin hollandaise and caviar.

After indulging in the delicious tapas, customers can explore the "Parilla" section and savor the grass-fed beef and Iberico pork offerings. These grilled options will be served with a variety of accoutrements — mojo verde, mojo rojo, and chimichurri — in addition to Basque beans and field greens.

And, of course, there will be paella. Paella enthusiasts will appreciate the Valenciana, which is a combination of chicken, rabbit, escargot, sofrito, and saffron. A seafood option with lobster, mussels, scallops and more, along with a vegetarian paella will also be available. Heirloom corn tacos and seasonal entrées will round out the menu.

Guests will be able to enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere in the downstairs dining room, complete with a stunning bar and "grand table" semi-private dining area. (Vida Restaurant)

The owners say that Vida's signature cocktails, "crafted with artistry and passion, complement the vibrant atmosphere, while the wine list, leaning heavily on Spanish vineyards, pairs perfectly with the vast flavors featured on the plate."
