Pace Men's Swimming Sets 5 Records
Dogus Akay of Turkey helped the NCAA school break three school records.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Dogus Akay (Izmir, Turkey/Isikkent) broke three school records as the Setters defeated the Dolphins of Le Moyne College 154-136 in dual meet action.
Akay set the school record in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:58.84, while also setting the school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.08. He capped off his record setting performance with a third record in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:56.44 as he took first place in all three events.

Derek Slayton (Huntington Beach, CA/Marina/Cypress College) etched his name into the record book as he set a record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.22, taking first place. He also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.04, while coming in second place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 4:33.16. Matt McCann (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury)finished in second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:18.80.
Kevin Dickson (Coldingham, Scotland/Wallace) won three events as he took first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.22, while winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.75. He also posted a win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.18. Michael Fridman (Jerusalem, Israel/Zionist Village) also posted a pair of first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.43 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.64.

The quarter of Akay, Slayton, Dickson and Fridman also set the school record in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:37.94, taking first place in the event.
The Setters are back in action as they will travel to Southern Connecticut State University for the Northeast-10 Conference Championships from Thursday, January 31-Sunday, February 2.
