Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville:
1. Want to capture the beauty of Westchester with your lens? The Mount Pleasant Public Library is hosting photographer Karen Sullivan tonight at 7 p.m. She will be presenting a workshop titled "Nature Photography: Where to Begin?" to give participants all the basics for capturing beautiful photographs. Call 769-0548 to reserve your spot. More information can be found here.
2. Can you believe the summer is already reaching its halfway point? The Village of Briarcliff Manor is marking midseason by offering half-price pool and tennis permit options for the remainder of the summer. Permits are available weekdays at the Recreation Department offices (at the library) between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call 941-6560 for details.
3. Today's weather will be sunny without clouds—and without steamy heat, too. Temperatures are expected to hover around 82 degrees.
4. "District Attorney Seeking Upgraded Charges In Fatal Boat Accident" is the region's most read story of yesterday; click here to read more.
5. Backpacks and pencils aren't all kids need to head back to school; the county department of health is offering appointments for immunizations starting next week. Get the details here.
