PHS Senior Selected for National Chorus

Justin Maldonado, a Pleasantville High School senior, joins the National All-Honors Mixed Chorus for its October 30 concert.

Pleasantville High School's Justin Maldonado is taking his voice to a national stage.

The senior has been selected to join the National All-Honors Mixed Chorus by the National Association for Music Education, according to a press release from the district.

The chorus will perform at a gala on October 30 in Nashville, TN, the district reported.

Last school year, Maldonado was part of the All-State Chorus and now is just one of five Westchester County and 37 statewide singers joining the elite national group of 350 singing under the direction of Rollo Dilworth.

"I enjoyed singing under Mr. Dilworth’s direction at last year’s All-State concert," Maldonado said.

Pleasantville High School choral teacher Kathleen Donovan-Warren said she is "thrilled" by Maldonado's accomplishment.

"He’s worked very hard and has a beautiful voice," she said, adding, "I think he is the first from PHS to be chosen for this honor."

Note: This article previously misstated the number of singers in the group. It has been corrected.
