Pleasantville HS Names its Top 2 Academics
The valedictorian and salutatorian will address their graduating class at Friday's commencement.

Pleasantville High School's valedictorian and salutatorian boast long lists of club and activity involvement, awards and other accolades in addition to being recognized as the students with the top grade point averages in 2013.
Danielle Labruzzo, valedictorian
According to literature from PHS, Labruzzo carries a 100.3 weighted GPA heading into graduation.
She was involved with the National Honor Society, where she served as treasurer for her senior year, as well as the National Science Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society, Math Team, SADD, ECHO and the student newspaper.
Labruzzo has received several awards during her time at PHS, including being named an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Principal's Leadership Award and the Benjamin Sze Math and Science awards.
Labruzzo will attend Boston College in the fall, where she tentatively plans to major in biology.
Francesca Trombetta, salutatorian
Trombetta has earned a 99.9 GPA and wraps up her senior year having earned accolades including a President's Award for Academic Excellence, a Principal's Leadership Award and a New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
During her time at Pleasantville High School, Trombetta was a part of both the varsity girls' soccer and lacrosse teams, the Challenge Team and the National, Science and Italian Honor societies. She served as the latter's president during her senior year.
In the fall, Trombetta plans to attend the University of Virginia, where she will also major in biology.
