Pleasantville Police: Sugar in Gas Tank

A resident's car malfunctioned after a few miles; dealership reports sugar in gas tank.

A Bedford Road resident found an unusual explanation for her car's malfunctioning, according to Pleasantville Police records.

Just after noon on Wednesday, Jan. 30, the woman called police and said that someone had damaged it while it was parked at her residence.

The 2006 Honda Odyssey, she said, ran fine on January 24, but when she took it out at approximately 10 a.m. on January 25, it malfunctioned after a few miles.

After taking the car to the Mount Kisco Honda dealership, the woman reported it appeared someone had put multiple cups of sugar into her gas tank.

Police made a note of the incident and the woman said she would go into police headquarters to share additional information at a later date.
