Pleasantville Police Warn Residents About Catalytic Converter Thefts

Be vigilant about signs of theft or the sound of a power saw being operated in a short burst, police said.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — In Pleasantville, vehicles have had their catalytic converters stolen in the overnight hours in the past few weeks, village police said.

This follows a pattern from the past few months at least, they said, where communities throughout Westchester County have experienced a rash of thefts of catalytic converters.

"With the right knowledge and power tools, catalytic converters can be removed from a vehicle very quickly," police said.
