Pleasantville Woman Dies In Upstate UTV Crash

Two passengers were found pinned underneath the utility terrain vehicle. The driver, from Bronxville, was uninjured.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, NY — New York State Police began investigating a fatal utility terrain vehicle on Crock Road in Gallatin on Saturday.

Troopers were dispatched to Crock Road at 2:23 p.m. for a report of a UTV crash with injuries. Troopers and good Samaritans at the scene lifted the vehicle off two passengers who were pinned underneath.

Both passengers were transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital, one in critical condition. Marlene M. VonHagen, 61, of Pleasantville, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver, Christopher W. Carter, 36, of Bronxville, was uninjured, police said.

The investigation remains open, police said.
