Police: Cortlandt Drug Dealer Found with 94 Bags of Heroin

A 23-year-old Cortlandt man is scheduled to appear in town court Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of 94 small bags of heroin Tuesday.

The Westchester County Police Narcotic’s Unit arrested Eric Rabe, 23, of Trolley Road in Cortlandt Manor, Tuesday and charged him third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, following of month-long investigation.

Rabe was arrested at 2 p.m. on Westbrook Drive after police detectives developed information that he would be involved in a drug deal there. He was found in possession of 30 bags of heroin at that time.  

Police executed a search warrant at Rabe’s home following his arrest and recovered an additional 64 bags of heroin and $1,800 in cash. The heroin sells for about $15 per bag when sold individually and about $10 per bag when purchased in bundles of 10, according to police.

Rabe was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail. George N. Longworth, commissioner of the county Department of Public Safety, said the Department was committed to continuing to combat drug dealing by investigating both large-scale distribution networks as well as street-level dealers.

He is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, according to jail records.

Rabe's bail is set at $50,000.
