Westchester Parkways Reopen: Storm Update

The heavy rain overnight caused the usual problems in the usual spots.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The storm that brought more than an inch of rain to the region has caused some flooding and ponding on Westchester's parkways.

At 10:06 a.m. Westchester County police reported the Bronx River, Hutchinson River, Saw Mill River and Cross County parkways had reopened. They plus Playland Parkway had ponding in some areas still, but all were passable.

  • Bronx River Parkway: The southbound side at Chatterton Avenue is closed due to flooding.
  • Hutchinson River Parkway: Southbound from Box 9 to East Lincoln is closed due to flooding.
  • Saw Mill River Parkway: There is ponding southbound from Lawrence to Ravensdale in the right lane, but it is passable.
  • Cross County Parkway: Eastbound Wartburg ramp to the Hutch southbound is closed due to flooding.
  • Playland Parkway: Ponding in areas but passable.
