Pop-Up Vaccine Clinic Coming To Pleasantville Farmers Market

The Moderna vaccine against COVID-19 will be offered, with a second dose scheduled for June 12.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — The managers of the Pleasantville Farmers Market pride themselves on focusing on doing what’s best for the Westchester County community. So they'll host Phelps Hospital and the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps in a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine site on Saturday, to provide free vaccines to up to 100 people.

"By the latest report, the vaccination rate in the Pleasantville zip code (10570) was a bit above 60 percent," Mayor Peter Scherer told Patch. "That’s a good start, but we’re trying hard to raise that number. We very much appreciate Phelps Hospital and OVAC in arranging this pop-up site at the Pleasantville Farmers Market. It provides a convenient way for people to get vaccinated — but it also highlights our core message. High vaccination rates means we can return to our normal lives faster and more safely."

The market also attracts shoppers from all over north-central Westchester.
