Saturday Forecast: Sunny Winter Market!

Pleasantville Farmers Market is Open Saturdays, 9:30am - 12:00pm

Get to the Market this week to gather great food, enjoy the warm company of neighbors & producers, and get some vitamin D from shopping outdoors!

All our vendors offer their full line of products for walk up purchases December through March. A few vendors also have set up their own methods for shoppers to be able to preorder products if they wish. That information is listed below:

Produce
Maple View Farm's new preorder system opens at 7pm tonight. Every week Tuesday, 7pm thru Thursday, 7pm, shoppers can browse and preorder from all the farm's offerings. To begin click https://www.mapleviewfarmny.com/shop. (To help with pick up please bring your order number). Their system ensures you can reserve what you need, and on winter Saturdays that are below freezing the farm can rely on sheltering preorders in their heated van to keep providing tender, winter-grown greens to our community. This week the weather will allow for both a display for walk up purchases and Maple View's preorder pick up.

Last year the Market was among the Pleasantville businesses awarded the honor of “Best of Westchester” by voters in Westchester Magazine’s annual contest. As a community-based service, we’re proud of this feedback as an indication that we’re fulfilling our mission to our community, farms and food artisans -- year-round.Now the 2024 “Best of Westchester” first round voting is open. Please take a minute to VOTE TODAY for your favorite farmers market and ALL local, small businesses that have earned your loyalty.

TO BEGIN use this link Best of Westchester. Or first go to place votes for a farmers market, which can be voted upon in two "best" categories: “Farmers Market” and “Produce”. The contest requires participants fill in an entry in at least five categories.
Once you have voted, encourage fellow shoppers and family members to vote to help the contest garner more participation. Also, when visiting the Market Saturday enjoy collecting a set of free Market Coasters created to highlight the Best of Westchester contest.

Lead Sponsor Northwell Health Tip:
"There is a good reason vitamin D is called the "sunshine vitamin". When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it makes vitamin D from cholesterol. The sun's ultraviolet B (UVB) rays hit cholesterol in the skin cells, providing energy for vitamin D synthesis to occur." Brought to you by Northern Westchester and Phelps, your local Northwell hospitals.

Market Intern Program
The Market is accepting applications from area students, grades 8 - 12, for the our winter Intern Program. For information email info@pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org.
