Saturday's Forecast: 100% Chance of Pleasant!
Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturdays, 8:30am - 1:00pm

Finally, after a series of damp markets, this Saturday is forecast to SHINE (70° and sunny)! That means Puras Paletas can make their final visit of the season and we'll also have all our event programing in place. While shopping a beautiful fall harvest you and the kids can watch Jessica Manfro's Giant Pumpkin Carving (and enter a free raffle for the finished artistic gourd). You can meet dietitian & author Elizabeth Pecoraro while tasting recipes from her “The Allergy-Friendly Cookbook: Simple Recipes for the Whole Family”. Musician Joe Tobin of The Acoustic Medicine Show will provide toe-tapping tunes on his acoustic guitar, and you also can learn about the local nonprofit teaching clinic Touro Dental Health at our Community tent. See you at the Market!

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
FINAL week of the year for Puras Paletas! Their season wraps up Saturday so it's time to stock up. They have insulated bags to help you get a pack of their small batch creamy or fruit-based ice pops home to the freezer safely.
Orwasher's Bakery has their Pumpkin Bread this week! Soft and just slightly sweet with hints of ginger and pie spice, this loaf is a fall favorite. Try it toasted with a slather of butter, or make some incredible pumpkin French toast on a cool October morning.

(Turkey Sign-up Underway) Saturday Hilly Acres Farm will have a full assortment of pork, beef, chicken, fresh brown eggs, and a great selection of pork and beef roasts. They're also now taking preorders for turkeys for Thanksgiving. Turkeys (broad breasted whites) will range 13-20 pounds. Manor Sangria will be in with their handcrafted, fresh sangria blends.
Talitha of Edgwick Farm is highlighting this week's SPECIAL: Buy three flavored soft goat cheeses, get one FREE! Flavors being offered in this special are: Blueberry, Apricot, Raspberry, Maple Chipotle, Basil Pesto, Everything Bagel, Horseradish Garlic. Seeking their Rosemary Fig? They've a supply of that flavor too (though not as part of the bulk special).
This Saturday, wheat-free baker Bohemian Baked will be in with their excellent muffins, cookies, pretzels and breads.
Trotta Foods has a (wonderful) pumpkin thing going on. Seek them out for pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin tortellini, and pumpkin vodka sauce!
Merchant's Daughter Ciderworks got rained out last month but they're back for a sunny Saturday this week. Stock up on their artisanal hard ciders made from Hudson Valley apples!
Nina of Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse is highlighting their cider-washed Amram (silver medal Lyon 2018), Jean louis, and Drumm cheeses -- ideal with fall apples and Market artisanal breads (including Bobolink's own ciabattas!).
River Valley Community Grains will be in with their full line of heirloom varieties of corn for popping, cornmeal, corn flour, and varieties of oats, rye and wheat -- all produced using regenerative agriculture methods.
Teagevity is ready to serve shoppers in our cooler fall markets, with their grab and go option "Tea2go" in Hibiscus Pineapple, Blood Orange & Hibiscus, Strawberry Fields, Raspberry Summer Lemon & Green Tea & Lemongrass. Also, they've started their line of special fall hot teas, served by the cup: Preston's Pumpkin Chai, Dirty Chai, and Apple Cider Ginger tea with Cinnamon.
Pika's Farm Table arrives each Saturday with delicious quiches, soups, side dishes and appetizers for your week's menu. And they create authentic Liège waffles (yeast-based and containing caramelized chunks of pearl sugar, they're perfect for breakfast or dessert or a quick bite at the Market).
Wright's Farm is with us through 11/18 with a diverse line of preserves, pastured eggs, fresh apples, and plenty of unique pies made on the farm.
Mead Orchards and Wright's Farm are at peak apple time! Stop by and gather what you need for your week's meals.
Little Seed Gardens (in addition to highlighting their ginger harvest!) is giving a shout out to fall squash. Shoppers can now expect to see fall favorites such as Butternut, Honeynut (smaller version of Butternut with a rich, sweet, nutty flavor), Autumn Frost (specialty Butternut, creamy and mild), and Acorn squash (more mild and savory than Butternuts).
Watch Bien Cuit in the fall as they introduce several seasonal pastries including Apple Cardamom Danish, Butternut Squash Harrisa Danish, and Red Miso Pan au Raisin.
Woven Stars Farm offers charcuterie made with their pork, and the help of Chef Jack Peele of Jacuterie. Woven currently offers two salami flavors: a spicy Spanish inspired salami, cured with smoky paprika, garlic and red wine, and a second flavor, a floral French inspired salami, seasoned using thyme, basil, rosemary, tarragon, savory, marjoram, oregano, bay leaf, white pepper and garlic.
