Lead Sponsor Northwell Health Tip:
"An apple a day may indeed help keep you out of the doctor’s office, and scientists are just beginning to find out why. Plenty of vitamins and minerals, as well as phytonutrients, are packed into one baseball-sized piece of fruit. Considerable research is currently centered on the role of phytonutrients that act as antioxidants, which are found in many fruits, red wine and tea. Antioxidants counteract chemicals in the blood that oxidize, or damage, certain molecules. Flavonoids are the most common group of phytonutrients in foods. Apples are particularly high in one of the flavonoids called quercetin, which has high antioxidant activity." Brought to you by Northern Westchester and Phelps, your local Northwell hospitals.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
For Easter Bien Cuit is highlighting that they will have Cherry Pecan Purple Potato Hot Cross Buns. (Where else will you find hot cross buns like these?!) We also will see Red Barn Bakery and Noble Pies in with multiple treats for holiday shoppers.
Both Gajeski Produce and Mead Orchards are back this week.
Edgwick Farm will be sampling its horseradish garlic soft goat cheese this week. Their classic soft goat cheese seasoned with horseradish and minced garlic makes a savory spread with just a touch of spice. Try a taste at their table this week.
Bohemian Baked is concluding a renovation of their kitchen this week. If the work wraps up in time they will bake items for the Market this Saturday. Here's hoping!
With Teagevity you can enjoy a hot cup of tea, coffee, or hot cider at the Market. On the go? Choose from their 16oz. bottles of Tea2go with favorite iced teas such as Hibiscus Pineapple, and Blood Orange & Hibiscus. You can also shop for loose tea (2oz. kraft bags) and roasted coffee beans (8oz. kraft bags) to take home.
Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse is recommending their Autumn Drumm with dried figs for your Easter table, and they note that their Rosemary Epi always tastes springy with fresh sweet rosemary!
This Saturday, Spice Revolution is featuring a new spice for everyone’s Easter feast, adding to their already extensive collection of paprikas: a NEW smoked sweet Hungarian paprika. Choose from all paprika options including: smoked Spanish, Hungarian 1/2 sharp, unsmoked Spanish, and hot smoked Spanish.
Need an easy evening in the kitchen? Trotta Foods has dinner all set. Browse their vegetarian options such as Trotta Foods Veggie Lasagna, Eggplant Parm, Manicotti & Stuffed Shells Parm, and a Totally Vegan Ravioli as well.
Hilly Acres Farm will be at the Market with a large assortment of pork, beef, chicken, and fresh brown eggs. They're highlighting a special price on their T-Bone steaks and London Broils. London Broil is a delicious cut of meat that can serve many recipes, at a very reasonable price.
Cooper's Daughter Spirits will visit this week and is pitching their Cacao Maple Vodka for an Easter cocktail: In a large mixing cup with ice set 2 oz unsweetened chai (DONA concentrate is ideal), 1.5 oz Cooper's Daughter Cacao Maple Vodka, 0.5 oz vanilla maple syrup, 1 dash cinnamon, 3 drops black walnut bitters, 1.5 oz half and half, and shake well. Pour ice and all into 12 oz glass top with whipped cream and garnish with Cadbury mini eggs and a marshmallow peep (Easter only)!
COMMUNITY SERVICE &
ZERO WASTE!
The composting station at the Farmers Market was started by a Girl Scout for her gold award. It is our community’s job to keep it going when it returns in April. That’s why we are looking for students to volunteer at the composting station. For your help, you will receive community service hours. The composting station is there to decrease the amount of trash produced by the Farmers Market. That includes helping members of the community place their items in the correct bin. To sign up as a volunteer CLICK HERE and add your name to whichever shifts you can volunteer. Then fill out the Market's waiver for volunteers with this LINK. If you have any questions you can contact the Zero Waste Station Coordinator at jadyn@seredin.com. Thank you!
