Utility Pole on Fire on Waller Avenue in Ossining

A utility pole has caught fire. Responders are on the scene.

Ossining Police are telling commuters to avoid the area of Highland Avenue and Waller Avenue during the rush hour commute. A utility pole caught fire, bringing emergency responders to the scene.

Even though the fire is out, the area is completely blocked off to traffic, including the northbound and southbound lanes on Route 9. Police are telling drivers to take Walden Road or Maurice Avenue as detours.

Ossining Police say that a transformer caught fire. There is only one home without power in Ossining due to the transformer fire.
