Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: PrideWorks Conference Helpers
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
This week we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
PrideWorks Conference
The annual PrideWorks Conference serves students from more than 70 middle and high schools and 10 colleges and universities. Volunteers are essential in making sure that the conference runs smoothly. PrideWorks is seeking volunteers to welcome participants and facilitate with registration in the morning. Volunteers must be 18+.
Date: 3/19 from 7:30-9:30 a.m.

Saturday Basketball Helpers & Gym Monitors
Volunteers are needed to assist with Y-COP of Mount Vernon's co-ed Saturday Basketball Program for children ages 5-15. Youth learn the fundamentals of basketball, including passing and dribbling, as well as how to be a good team player and have a positive competitive spirit. There's healthy competition, lots of fun, and playoffs at the end of the season. Volunteers don't need a hook shot or the skills of Steph Curry—just a passion to be a positive influence on kids in the community!

Web Developer and Designer
Groundwork Hudson Valley is seeking a volunteer web developer/designer to help create a visually engaging and user-friendly annual report webpage. This short-term project will take place in April and involves designing and developing a responsive webpage that effectively presents key data, stories, and achievements. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (or relevant web frameworks), as well as user experience and CMS platforms like WordPress is a plus!
