Volunteer Opportunity Of The Week: NY Giants Inclusive Flag Football
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Volunteers will help set up equipment, assist with an inclusive flag football clinic to ensure young participants are engaged and supported, and clean up after the program is complete. They will also have the opportunity to meet the members of the New York Giants during the meet and greet. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and complete a mandatory application and video training prior to their arrival. No sports experience is necessary!

Community Garden Kickoff and Grow Bag Giveaway
Volunteers will be planting and seeding the garden, as well as receive a free five-gallon grow bag filled with veggies to take home and enjoy. This will be a fun day filled with music, snacks, a cooking demonstration and tasting, free kids' books, free seeds, and informational tables teaching about pollinators, wild plants, herbs, and gardening. Volunteers must be 14+ to register alone or 3+ if registering as part of an adult's team.

I Love My Park Day
I Love My Park Day is a statewide day of cleaning up state parks to enhance New York's parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the park system and its needs. Volunteers are needed to join Rockefeller State Park Preserve staff and the Friends of Rockefeller State Park Preserve in cleaning up the invasive vines at Rockwood Hall. Long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes are recommended. Work gloves will be available, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own. Bring a water bottle and snack; additional water and snacks will be provided.

Garden Clean-Up Day (Teens Only)
Join Muscoot Farm for a hands-on volunteer day in the garden! Students ages 13-15 can get their hands dirty as they prepare garden beds, plant seeds, transplant, and help kick off the garden season. This is a great way to learn about gardening while playing an important role in getting the garden ready for spring. No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm, a willingness to dig in, and clothes that can handle a little dirt!

Program Support Volunteer
Latino U College Access (LUCA) empowers first-generation students on their journeys to and through college so they can fulfill their remarkable potential. It is seeking a Programs Volunteer to support its program needs for about 10-12 hours per week. Volunteers will provide administrative support, coordinate meetings, assist with programs and events, and create presentation materials. This is the perfect opportunity for a college intern or an individual with office experience. Volunteers must be 18+.
