WATCH: Cab Strikes Woman in Sleepy Hollow

[Warning: graphic content] This video surveillance from a Sleepy Hollow business shows a woman crossing Beekman Avenue on foot only to get knocked over by a taxi.

This startling footage of a taxi hitting a woman early Thursday morning was shared with Patch by a Beekman businessman, who said police were also reviewing it.

Another person who said she saw the video is the victim's mother, who said it was "terrible" to watch her daughter get hit like this on Beekman on her way to work. The mother, who didn't want her name used, reported that her 39-year-old daughter was still at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla on Friday afternoon getting treated for a back injury.

"She's okay," the mother said. Though she wasn't there at the time of the accident at 6:45 a.m., she said she felt from seeing the footage that the driver must have gone through the stop sign before hitting her daughter.

Police Chief Gregory Camp said the case is still under investigation and that no violations had been yet been issued to the driver. He said the victim complained of minor pain at the scene.

"They need a stop light there," the mother said.
