Winds Knocks Out Power in Parts of Pleasantville

Briarcliff Manor's overhead power system reportedly unscathed after high winds hit the region.

About 169 Pleasantville Con Edison customers are without power as of 9 a.m. this morning, according to the company.

Con Edison, which said it had additional crews ready last night to fight the expected outages with high winds hittng the area, expects those affected in Pleasantville to be out of the dark by 6 p.m. today.

The company reports no one in Briarcliff Manor is without power.

The overnight storm brought down trees and caused flooding in parts of the region.

This morning, th New York State Department of Transportation noted a closing on the Taconic State Parkway between Stevens Avenue and Commerce Street due to flooding, as well as the southbound lanes of Route 9A in Ossining due to a downed tree and wires.

That area, near Cedar Lane, has since been reopened.

The Saw Mill River Parkway between exits 27 and 30 in the Mount Pleasant/Pleasantville area is also reportedly still closed due to flooding.

New York City commuters utilizing the Harlem Line may also continue to see 45-minute delays this morning.
