Winter Harvest? Yes, of Course!
Pleasantville Farmers Market is OPEN Saturday, 9:30am - 12:00pm (rain or shine)

The winter season has a harvest thanks to our talented Pleasantville Farmers Market producers. Winter-growing farms offer fresh items such as herbs, microgreens, kale, chard, carrots, scallions, leeks, radishes, bok choy, and they have cellared root vegetables too. Regional grains, summer-grown and stored in the fall, are sold as raw ingredients for your baking, and they're in many fresh baked goods offered at the Market. Summer has been bottled as honey, chutneys, and sauces. Farms selling proteins have abundant items of pork, beef, duck, and chicken. Eggs continue to arrive, and are also a key ingredient in fresh pastas. Our fisherman has some seafood only seen during winter months. Our orchard has over twelve varieties of apples stored so they remain crisp, winter squash, and fresh cider. With a winter harvest of interesting options, menu planning remains full of potential. And when you want to take it easy in the kitchen, the Market has a number of prepared food items made with regionally produced ingredients. Your weekly support directly helps all these farmers and food artisans. Make a difference, and a delicious menu, by shopping at the Market throughout the winter season.

Lead Sponsor Northwell Health Tip:
"Health experts have emphasized the significance of reducing sodium, and increasing potassium levels, in the US diet. Sodium intake can be lowered by swapping processed foods for more fresh produce. And potassium occurs naturally in produce such as fresh beets, beet greens, Swiss chard, radishes, spinach and squash." Brought to you by Northern Westchester and Phelps, your local Northwell hospitals.
Market Intern Program
The Market is accepting applications from area students, grades 8 - 12, for the our winter Intern Program. For information email info@pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org.
VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
Maple View Farms is highlighting the importance of preordering your Maple View products as winter begins to get too cold for them to display tender greens for walk up shopping on some Saturdays. Use their new preorder system at mapleviewfarmny.com/shop to get what you need (their online store is open Tues 7pm - Thurs 7pm).
Hilly Acres Farm offers a wide variety of pork, beef, chicken and they have fresh brown eggs. They have several great beef roasts to choose from including bottom round, rump roast, and chuck roast -- add some of your favorite veggies for a delicious home cooked meal.
Pika's Farm Table has warming dishes such as pot pies and soups. Examples we've enjoyed in the past are Chili with Beef, Cream of Potato / Broccoli soup, Mushroom Bisque, Potato Leek Soup, and Tomato Parmesan Soup. Stop by Pika's tent Saturday to gather some convenient and delicious meals for the week.
Bohemian Baked is in with their line of wheat-free breads and treats.
Hudson River Apiaries has a number of beeswax candles, cast in all sizes and shapes, and they have traditional tapers too. Beeswax candles smell great and give off less smoke than conventional candles.
Will Himalayan Delish set up to produce dumplings to eat at the Market Saturday? Depends on the weather. Either way shoppers can still obtain their dumplings, frozen-to-go, by stopping by the Orwasher's tent. Take home a bag of frozen dumplings and steam for 18 minutes to enjoy them as a meal this week (plenty of delicious sauces are included). Ideally, bring an insulated bag to tote your dumplings home.
Manor Sangria is in this week with their line of fresh artisanal sangrias.
Teagevity provides a line of traditional loose leaf and herbal fruit teas to take home. They offer their popular red iced teas in convenient Tea2Go containers. And at the Market, in addition to teas and coffee, they're serving hot cups of apple cider too.
SallyeAnder is back with their soaps and salves.
Pura Vida Fisheries has fresh seafood from our region - stop by Saturday to see what they bring this week. Don't overlook their creative prepared food items.
Both Noble Pies and Red Barn Bakery will be in with their excellent sweet and savory baked items.
Mead Orchards is in with almost all their varieties of Hudson Valley apples, they offer fresh cider (regular and apple-cherry), and they still have some nice winter squash as well.
Spice Revolution is focused on helping home cooks refresh their spice supplies for 2024. In with the new! Check your spice cabinet and stock up Saturday on staples such as ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, chili powder, oregano, and many more.
Gajeski Produce has items for walk up shoppers including fresh herbs, stored squash, potatoes, roots veggies, fresh scallions, leeks, greens, lettuce mixes, and stil fresh Brussels sprouts.
Bombay Chutney Company is back! They're highlighting their frozen heat & eat meals (Rajma, Dal, Saag, Channa, Kofta, Samosa, and Roti Roll) saying "you will feel good after eating them". Their chutneys & simmer sauces make a delicious accompaniment to these foods, or really to any meal.
Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery will be in Saturday with their quality distilled spirits, hard ciders, wines, fruit cordials and more.
