Women's Boutique Opens in Pleasantville

Rhodadendron has moved to Pleasantville's Wheeler Avenue from Chappaqua.

You might find yourself taking a double-take as a you pass by the corner of Wheeler Avenue and Bedford Road in Pleasantville these days.

The corner space, previously inhabited by Pilates Connections (now located on Marble Avenue), has its windows filled with colorful spring and summer clothing and accessories.

The storefront (73 Wheeler Ave.) is now home to Rhodadendron, a five-year Chappaqua boutique that moved to Pleasantville recently to accommodate the demand for more merchandise.

"Business was growing and we needed to find a space to allow our business to grow," explained Rhoda Gennarelli, the shop's owner.

Ready-to-wear pieces have been increasingly in demand, she added, and having space for two dressing rooms in the store was also a plus.

"We wanted to situate ourselves in a location where we could maintain our customer base," Gennarelli shared. "We wanted a bigger store where we could have it all."

Rhodadendron's loyal clients come from Briarcliff Manor, Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Thornwood, Hawthorne, Ossining and all over Westchester, she said.

Aside from clothing, the store also carries a large variety of jewelry, scarves, hats, belts, wallets, bags and other trendy accessories.

Rhodadendron officially opened on Saturday, Pleasantville Day, and the reception has been positive so far.

"The reaction has been phenomenal," said Gennarelli.

Rhodadendron is open Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
