• Sea turtle rescued by Port Jefferson ferry employees (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Ferry workers in Port Jefferson Harbor recently helped save a cold-stunned green sea turtle named Arugula that had been lingering near the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry dock. The New York Marine Rescue Center is treating the turtle and warns that sudden cold snaps are stranding more sea turtles locally, asking residents to call if they spot one near the surface.
