PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A man was shot in the leg outside of a home in Port Jefferson Station on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said. He was shot on Piedmont Drive at around 1:35 p.m. and then taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Further details were not released. The shooting was one of two within about seven hours in the local area.A child was shot in and the suspect killed himself in <a href="https://patch.com/new-york/shirley-mastic/suspect-fires-officers-striking-girl-3-kills-himself-li-cops">Ridge</a> around 8:30 p.m.
