Blood Drives, CPR Class Coming This Week in Port Jefferson

Here's a look at what's happening this coming week in Port Jefferson.

1. On Tuesday at St. Charles Hospital, a blood drive will be held starting at 7 a.m. Click here to learn more about donating blood.

2. Another blood drive is set for Tuesday, this one by Long Island Blood Services, at the Port Jefferson Free Library starting at 1 p.m.

3. The Town of Brookhaven will hold a special public hearing on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at town hall regarding the acceptance of the Carmans River Conservation and Management Plan and the draft of the related SEQRA statement.

4. Learn the geological origins of Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai at a "sunset seminar" given at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The event will be led by State Assemb. Steve Englebright, D-Setauket, who has a background in geology.

5. Learn the basics of CPR and how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) at a 5:30 p.m. class on Thursday at the Port Jefferson Free Library.
