College Athlete, High School Swimmer Win Annual Biathlon
Andrew Keresztes wins overall men's category while Maggie Reynolds wins overall women's category.

An 18-year-old college athlete from Port Jefferson and a 16-year-old varsity swimmer from Centerport are the overall winners of the annual Port Jefferson Village-Rotary Biathlon, held this past weekend.
Andrew Keresztes, who runs cross country and track and field for the University of Maryland Baltimore County, is a six-year resident of Port Jefferson who competed in the biathlon for the fourth time. He said the rainy weather conditions in the morning made the event tough.
"Having done well in the past, I was happy to do as well as I did this year," he said. "Because I’m a collegiate athlete, I do whatever I was training for and then hope that I’m prepared enough for the entire thing."
Maggie Reynolds, 16, who attends high school at Our Lady of Mercy in Syosset, was the overall women's winner of the event in 2011, and repeated this past weekend.
"It was a great feeling," she said. "To know that I actually did that again made me feel all of the swimming that I did and the running that I’ve done has really paid off."
The biathlon consisted of a 500-yard swim and a 5-kilometer run.
