Elementary Schooler R-E-P-E-A-T-S as Spelling Bee Champ
Gavin Chambers will be going to the regional spelling bee at Hofstra University for the second year in a row.

For the second year in a row, Edna Louise Spear Elementary School student Gavin Chambers won the school's spelling bee and will be heading to a regional competition coming up at Hofstra University.
Chambers spelled "invertebrate" correctly to take the local crown, after winning last year's competition on "hexameter."
Each of the eight classrooms in the school held a spelling bee of its own, sending two finalists to the school's spelling bee. Chambers will now compete against other Long Island schools' participants in March at Hofstra, with the winner heading to the national competition to compete for cash and prizes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington, D.C.
