Loaded 9MM Gun Found After 2 Crash Stolen Long Island SUV Into Cop Car: Police
Police told News 12 Long Island that the the pair took a Porsche Macan from a Port Jefferson home's driveway last week.
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Two New York City men were arrested after crashing a SUV stolen from Port Jefferson into a police cruiser in Greenwich, CT, police told News 12.
The pair were seen manipulating a blue mailbox, and then drove down a sidewalk, where the SUV hit a police cruiser and a sign before they tried to escape officers, but they were later apprehended, according to a Facebook post by Greenwich police.
They took a Porsche Macan from the driveway of a Seaside Drive home last week, Lt. Patrick Smyth said.

Stolen mail, a loaded 9mm gun, and tools for mail theft were recovered from the SUV, police said.
Jose Lopez-Rivera, of Brooklyn, and Kluis Martinezscoto, of the Bronx, were charged with motorvehicle theft, illegal possession of a weapon, larceny, possession of burglary tools, interfering with an officer, and numerous motor vehicle violations, police said in their post.
Each suspect could not post a $51,000 cash bond and was taken to Stamford Superior Court, according to police.

The department said it was encouraging residents to review their accounts if they recently mailed checks and used any USPS Blue Bin or their home mailbox, as well as to monitor their accounts and make sure any mailed check has cleared properly and that there is not any suspicious activity on their account.
