Mah Jong, Freedom and Peace Seminar, Gingerbread House Competition This Week
It's a week of celebration and competition in Port Jefferson.

Here's a look at what's happening in Port Jefferson this week.
Mah Jong for Beginners: Learn how to play Mah Jong, the popular Chinese game that involves both skill and strategy. Mah Jong Instructor Valerie Krause will be conducting class. Come to the Port Jefferson Library on Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m. for some free lessons.
Step by Step to Freedom and Peace: Join us for this course in which we'll explore a simple but life-changing series of Buddhist meditations called the Lamrim – the stages of the path to enlightenment. We'll learn the basics of how to meditate, how to set up a daily practice, and we'll explore in detail each one of the meditations that make up the stages of the path to freedom and peace with Mike Opisso 7-8.30 p.m. December 3, 10, 17 (no classes December 24 and December 31)

Mac / iPad User Group: This is a support group for Mac users at all skill levels. Improve your computer skills, learn software programs, the internet and more. Bring all of your questions for our Mac expert Arnie Lustig. The support group begins at 6 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Library.
Hats and More! A Volunteer Opportunity for Knitters and Crocheters: Get together with other knitters and crocheters at the Comsewogue Public Library and make hats to be donated to St. Charles Hospital and University Hospital at Stony Brook.

Gingerbread House Competition: Suffolk Lodge No.60 F. & A. M. is hosting the 3rd Annual Gingerbread House Competition during the 18th Annual Port Jefferson Charles Dickens Festival. Every year thousands of people attend this wonderful festival to see the transformation of Port Jefferson Village into a town out of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
All Gingerbread House Contest submissions will be on display at the historic Port Jefferson Masonic Temple throughout the entire Port Jefferson Dickens Festival weekend.
The competition will feature the Adult, Teen, and Youth category.
1st Place Adult Category Winner will receive a 5 DAY vacation for 4 at a luxurious resort in Cancun, Mexico!
