Man's Finger Severed, 3 Hurt, Cars Damaged At LI Fireworks Display: PD
The residential fireworks display left one man with a severed finger, police say.
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — Four people were injured and several cars were damaged during a residential July 4 fireworks display, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at about 10 p.m. on Foxrun Court in Port Jefferson Station. A large gathering of people were watching a fireworks display at the residence when a firework went astray, police said. Two men, a woman and a girl were injured, and several cars parked on the block sustained damage, police said.
All four of the injured were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

Patrice Ambroise, 38, of Mount Sinai, was treated for burns and a serious leg injury; Kieran Doyle, 30, of Selden, was treated for burns and a severed finger, police said.
A 30-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries, police said.
