From the classroom to the principal’s office, their mission has always been to create lasting impact, empowering others to become self-sufficient and confident. Life, however, presented a new challenge. After Gladly’s 35-fibroid removal and their journey through fertility treatments, they realized it was time for a lifestyle transformation—one that would prioritize health, wellness, and holistic living. It was during this journey Carine Chenet Gladly's sister who reside in Canada, introduced them to Monat, a company committed to help people build beautiful, healthy, purposeful life through their exceptional naturally based, vegan, clean, and non-toxic products. A Stony Brook University instructor made an appearance this past week in the Port Jefferson School District, offering students a free course in percussion.  Speaking with a mix of middle and high schoolers, James Beauton discussed the instruments' history and improvised using the drum, snare drum, marimba and shekere, an African rattle. He also performed "Prim," a piece composed for the snare drum by leading Icelandic composer Áskell Másson.  "High school was the time in which I was most influenced by music, so I feel like it's only appropriate to talk about it with students this age," said Beauton. "I like what I do, and I have the resources and the time, so it's perfect." Beauton also visited the elementary school earlier in the day.
