The Port Jefferson Soccer Club beat the team from Forest Park by a score of 5-0 in the Long Island Soccer Football League's (LISFL) Division 1 Championship this past Sunday.
According to David Harris, Director of Communications for the league which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, this is the first Division 1 championship win for the Port Jefferson team.
Harris said that the team includes some former professional players along with top college players, some of them coming from from Stony Brook University and Dowling College. The Port Jefferson Soccer Club is managed by Craig Korobow.
