Port Jefferson Changing Recycling Schedule

The Village of Port Jefferson will be changing its collection schedule for recyclables during the new year.

The village will collect recycling on Wednesday during the new - except during the first week of the year when it will collect on Thursday, Jan. 3 due to the holiday.

Residents will also now separate their recycled items into two categories: Paper and Cardboard and Commingled Recyclables.

Beginning on Jan. 3, paper and cardboard will be picked up - and the two categories will alternate every week.

Residents will continue to use their current recycling container.
