  1. Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant addressed priorities at the last Board Of Trustee meeting held on Oct. 28. She pointed out the importance of communication at meetings before making announcements to the public. During the conference, she said she wants to create priorities with her team to be fulfilled in the next six months. (TBR News Media)
  2. New York Primary Elections Day is on Tuesday, November 8, and the New York governor candidates were campaigning full force Friday. Governor Kathy Hochul attended a Democratic breakfast in Brooklyn, and Zeldin visited Hudson River Park, where a jogger was recently sexually assaulted. Read the full story here. (ABC7 NY)
  3. Port Jefferson Village Center Gallery features an "All In The Family Reunited II" art exhibit. The gallery displays beautiful paintings created by local families. All are welcome to attend the reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at the village center. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
  4. A pedestrian was fatally hit while crossing Canal Road in Mount Sinai on Thursday. The 42-year-old woman from Holtsville was struck by a pickup truck. The victim was declared dead at the scene by a Port Jefferson physician. (Port Jefferson Patch)

  • Stony Brook resident, Carole Trottere, has been reaching out to the community in memory of her son, Alex Sutton, who passed away in 2018 from a heroin overdose. Trottere gave out pizza and Narcan training kits for his 35th birthday. (Patch)
  • PJ Lobster House will serve a complimentary dinner for attendees of the "How to Choose the Right Medicare Program for You" seminar. Speaker guests Melissa Wiener and Gracemarie Luce will lead the participants into the ABCs of Medicare bringing important topics and answering the public's questions.
