  1. A man who stole a 2015 Jeep from a Port Jefferson home sued the Suffolk police for violating his Civil Rights. Police body camera footage shows Christopher Cruz, 30, of Long Beach, being roughed up on Feb. 23, 2021. The case was brought up to the Eastern District Court in Central Islip. (Patch)
  2. Port Jefferson's high school physical education teachers hosted the Winter Volleyball Tournament. Students created their teams to participate in the tournament and the competition took over three days in early February. Click on the link to see the participant's teams and scores!   3. Save the date for the Port Jefferson Easter parade and egg Hunt! On Sunday, Apr. 12 at noon, the Easter Bunny will come to the village. The Parade will start in front of Theatre Three and end at the Village Center. For more info call: 631-473-1414. (PJCofC)

Nearby News: Suffolk Police are investigating a car accident that claimed two lives on Feb. 27 around 3:35 a.m. A Honda was being driven southbound on Route 111 when it hit an oil tanker truck at the intersection of Ironwood Street. The driver of the Honda and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, the truck driver had no injuries. The victims have not yet been identified by police. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352. (smithtownmatters.com)
