  1. Port Jefferson small business owners and representatives from PSEG Long Island gathered to announce that more grant money will be invested in the Village's small businesses. The grants are part of the popular economic development grants and will add $500,000 to be distributed to eligible businesses. (LongIsland.com)

On March 25, Legislator Stephanie Bontempi from Centerport along with other elected officials from the town, gathered together against a ban on fuel and oil connections in new construction. “Seeing the increasing use of cleaner energy technologies is a positive thing, but we cannot pretend that everything older can be replaced overnight. Newer technologies replacing older ones need to be adopted in stages so that we can properly adapt to the changes and ensure we are getting a better product or service in the end,” said Bontempi. The woman was crossing Sunrise Highway and Bedford Avenue when she was struck around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
