  1. The Roots Kava Bar opened in Port Jefferson offering a non-alcoholic alternative downtown. The bar opened last Saturday at 250 E. Main St. and owner Bobby Dunn, who also works for Homeland Security, said the botanical beverages are a stress reliever. Dunn's search for new healthy drinks led him to kava-based beverages and now, he is sharing his passion for the drinks in Port Jefferson downtown. (Greater Long Island)
  2. The "Marvelous Wonderettes" is playing now at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson. The musical will take you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where friends met with bigger dreams than their crinoline skirts!   4. Four months after the closing of the Pentimento restaurant in Stony Brook, a new spot is coming to town. David Tunney and his brother, John Tunney, own Old Fields restaurants in Greenlawn and Port Jefferson, Old Fields Barbecues in Huntington and Setauket, and, most recently, Ella’s in Huntington, and now, they want to keep expanding their business opening an Italian restaurant at the same spot where the Pentimento served the community for 27 years.
