- A Long Island woman who was a victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Stony Brook has been identified. Centereach resident Gina Paduano, 33, was fatally struck on March 7 on Route 347 in Stony Brook. The driver fled in the vehicle westbound on the roadway, police said. (Daily Voice)

- Edna Louise Spear Elementary School second-grade classes are a diverse group with varied interests. - To celebrate Women's History Month, Long Island Museum is exhibiting "Two Centuries of Long Island Women Artists, 1800-2000." The artwork is not just created with a brush and canvas, there is a quilt made by 30 different women and given as a gift to Rev. William H. Simonson of Port Jefferson in 1859.
