  1. Some Port Jefferson School students were guests on the “Spotlight on Long Island Schools” show on LI News Radio 103.9 FM. During their participation, students shared their efforts to conduct the fundraiser “Save Madagascar,” created after an article was read in class about how climate change has brought famine in Madagascar.   2. The Section XI Boys Swimming Championships happened at Stony Brook University on Feb. 12. Among winners, Comsewogue’s Noah Giunta placed first in the 100-yard butterfly event with a 50.67 and second in the 100-yard backstroke with 51.59. Congratulations to all athletes!

  3. Nearby News: Fire Island Ferries, Inc. is planning to suspend services after failed negotiations with the Village of Ocean Beach board. On an official statement, the Ferry company expressed intentions to suspend services on March 1, because they have been operating under an expired contract for over a year but are hoping to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
