From the classroom to the principal’s office, their mission has always been to create lasting impact, empowering others to become self-sufficient and confident. Life, however, presented a new challenge. After Gladly’s 35-fibroid removal and their journey through fertility treatments, they realized it was time for a lifestyle transformation—one that would prioritize health, wellness, and holistic living. It was during this journey Carine Chenet Gladly's sister who reside in Canada, introduced them to Monat, a company committed to help people build beautiful, healthy, purposeful life through their exceptional naturally based, vegan, clean, and non-toxic products. Inspired by the philosophy of health-conscious beauty, Maurice and Gladly envisioned a new way to serve their community—a space where wellness and luxury meet. If you're not feeling like a Scrooge this holiday season, the Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council and Village of Port Jefferson, will host the 23rd annual Charles Dickens Festival on Dec. 1 and 2. The festival will transform the village into the Dickensian era, filling the streets with roaming characters like Father Christmas, Dickens Mayor, Scrooge, the Town Crier and the beloved chimney sweeps. Many classic favorites will return to this year's festival, including ice skating at the Village Center, a-cappella performances by choirs and harmony groups, a Nutcracker performance, magic shows by the Great Wizard of the North, and other performances by area musicians. The event is open to the public and most attractions are free of charge. On Saturday, Dec. 1, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 2, it will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Photos: Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council
