Here are the top four stories in Port Jefferson today:

  1. Charles Dickens Festival returns to Port Jefferson this weekend. Festivities will go through Sunday, Dec. 4. This is the 26th year of the traditional fest in the village featuring live performances, concerts, parades, horse and carriage rides and more! (News 12 Westchester)
  2. Live performances will be hosted at the Charles Dickens Festival. Even though the event is free, some attractions require a fee. The magical wizardry of Steve Rodman will be presented at the Masonic Lodge. If you want to catch that, it will be played today and Sunday at noon, 1:20 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person.   3. Do you recognize him? Police seek the public's help to identify a shoplifter. The suspect stole $565 worth of clothing items from the Marshalls at 6A Henry St. in Commack.   4. Despise the rain on Nov. 27, the Port Jefferson Santa's Parade was a success! A large community group gathered on Main Street with umbrellas to see "Santa Claus" and other characters heading to the Village Center. Please take a look at some scenes of the event here. (TBR News Media)

  • The Historical Society of Greater Port Jefferson announced the museum and gift shop would be open during the Dickens Festival today and Sunday from noon to 4. (Historical Society of Greater Port Jefferson via Facebook)
  • North Shore trail has been awarded the Quality-of-Life Award. The course goes on for ten miles from Mount Sinai and Wading River. There is no doubt that the project has been improving the lives of the residents giving the community another recreational option. (Port Jefferson Patch)
